Healthy Minds…Healthy Lives. It is Possible.
Over the past decade, mental health services have been dwindling in Central Texas while at the same time, the number of people needing these services has dramatically increased. The Paladin Community Mental Health Center wants is a viable option for people wanting to make improvements in their life.
Treating mental disorders is one of the/most challenging social issues of our time. Over half of Texans with severe mental problems do not seek treatment. The really good news is that research has shown that mental disorders are not character flaws but legitimate illnesses that respond to specific treatments. More people need to know this and benefit from it and we are here to help that happen.
Our Pledge
We will treat you with dignity, care and compassion. We will provide you with holistic, traditional and innovative treatment options that will give you the tools you need to grow strong and well.
Our Program
Our adult, intensive outpatient program is designed for those aged 18-65 with certain primary psychiatric diagnoses who require intensive structure and support but not 24 hour supervision. These diagnoses may include depression, anxiety, bipolar and post traumatic stress syndrome.
The Warning Signs
The pace of life is faster today. Living in modern society is often filled with tragedy, trauma, disappointment and escalating changes that disrupt our hopes for a quality life. These are some of the signs things are not going well:
- Inability to cope with problems and daily activities
- Constant sensation that something is about to go wrong
- Sadness or apathy
- Changes in eating and sleeping patterns
- Difficulty concentrating and focusing
- Anger and irritability
- Thoughts of suicide and death
- Difficulty with relationships
The Way Back
Many of the warning signs are symptoms of the vain attempt of a person to deal with overwhelming circumstances. They can often be seen as a simple, whispering plea for help. A famous author, Thomas Wolfe, once proclaimed, “You can’t go home again” — meaning we are hopelessly trapped in our past experiences.
We don’t agree.
You can go home again in that it is possible to return to a simpler time in our lives when things were manageable, hopeful and happy. Our sentiment reflects the Paladin in us…the need to champion the causes of those in need. We can help you find the way back.
Paladin is about promoting wellness and management, We want our clients to grow strong, healthy and independent. Our goals are to help people:
- Feel good about themselves
- Deal effectively with their emotions
**Paladin is the name for the 12 knights of the ancient court of European king Charlemagne the Great — known for their legendary compassion and protection of others. In your darkest hour of need, you sent for a paladin.
